Creative arts provide children with a way to express their feelings, idea’s, and interests. The girls have been introduced to all the elements of art through this school year which are: line, shape, form, space, color and texture. The girls’ fascination with the ocean prompted this wonderful collaborative art project. All three classes came together to create this amazing painting.
Step 1: plain white tissue paper is painted
Step 2: different color paint is added in a fun pattern
Step 3: a third color is added using fun brushes
Step 4: a fourth color is added which now gives the tissue paper a new depth
Next the girls chose a favorite sea creature to create with the handmade tissue paper. Wire, sea shells and various materials were added along with collage sea creatures which completed our masterpiece.
Reflection: Art is created by people…creativity is learned…play is when you let your mind wander…relax and give your subconscious mind a time to work its magic…play is when you dream higher and imagine a different world…no idea is too too crazy…Zig Zag by Keith Sawyer
