Mrs. Riddle takes care of our farm and is our Bee Keeper extraordinaire!! She invited us to see how the bees were doing. We did stand a far distance from the bee hives and watched quietly. Mrs. Riddle gave the girls some tips if they become scared. Don’t run or wave your arms….and be calm and not loud. She showed them a pathway they could take if they became scared. Mrs. Riddle has a special suit so bees won’t sting her. We watched her walk to the hive and take out one of the bee frames. She brushed off the bees with a big brush before she brought the cell to where we were anxiously waiting.
We came back to the room and decided to do a little research about bees and this is what we discovered.
