Most of my friends know that children’s books are my passion. I have so many…. but bring them on!!! My classroom is full of endearing books of all kinds…. all subjects…. fiction and nonfiction …silly…serious…. full of lessons to learn and places to go when you are dreaming. What a gift we have. Why is that a gift you say!!
“Reading to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. They develop language and listening skills that prepares them for reading.”
Of course…my girls are reading by interpreting illustrations and reading to each other. I know you are reading to your girls. Keep up the good work moms and dads…. you are giving them such a gift…in so many ways.
Reading to track print.....Reading to gather information
Retelling stories to each other using prior knowledge and illustrations.............
"Sharing stories about the Snow Queen"
The little girl and boy went on an adventure. That little girl was crying because the little cat was cold. The little girl liked the little boy and tried to hug him. We came to the little man…The snow angel is staring at him…then she stared at him again. Then the little girl was sad because the little boy went away. The snow fairy was evil. The little girl went to sit by the fire…then she fell in the water….She found the little boy and they went away to ice skate. Then she was singing and then stopped. Then she was all grown up and she married the little boy…and they lived happily ever after. The End.
