The girls began a discovery of faces several weeks ago with our exploration of feelings and faces They are all fascinated with the images seen in the mirror whether it’s silly, serious, or created with clay or mirrors. Our girls continue to explore who they are in relation to others and deepen an understanding of the differences among people so they can then begin to appreciate their own unique characteristics. Examining different features on their own faces and comparing them to friends has allowed them the opportunity to build knowledge about others. The girls enjoy exploring art through different media and they are in the process of capturing their images through pen and water colors, and “A Half-self-portrait. This investigation of faces opens a new portal where they can begin to dig deeper and ponder the likes and differences among themselves.
