Wherever you are-inside or outside-there are shapes to discover. The girls have found circles, squares, rectangles, hearts, stars and many more. They are beginning to understand and recognize that these shapes have attributes that are the same and different. Walking to lunch has taken on yet another learning tool as the girls are making so many observations outside by spying shapes all around. The connections they are making will certainly be valuable as they continue to explore their environment.
Reflection: I am incredibly inspired by the dialogue generated through our discussion during the development of our class book about shapes. The girls are actively thinking drawing on prior knowledge and taking cues from others in the form of collaboration. How wonderful that we all can learn from one another.
