We continue to explore our environment by shedding light on things we see on a daily bases. All things in our world have a shape and a color. Isn’t it amazing that just three colors…blue, yellow, and red make so many other colors? We have” mixed it up” quite a bit lately by exploring the wonderful world of colors. We have shared many stories, incorporated sensory play, math skills, made predictions, and explored the concept of cause and effect by mixing up colors. The girls also made collage birthday boards according to what their favorite color was, and many rainbows have been seen in journals, on clip boards and other activities around the room. Let’s celebrate….colors of the rainbow and much much more!!
Scraps by Lois Ehlert introduced the girls to the art of collage, which is a collection of various materials, scraps, objects, etc. to create a picture and inspire their creative side. Several trips were made to the materials center to find things to create their birthday boards according to their favorite color. The girls also searched our classroom for things to add to their creations.
