Another favorite book of ours by author, Lois Ehlert, is Planting a Rainbow. We read about a little girl who loved planting flowers with her mother. They chose flowers to plant that were the same colors in the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. They really did PLANT A RAINBOW!
When do you see a rainbow?
When the sun comes out after it rains!
When you're at the beach and it rained a lot and then it stopped!
In the sky!
Red is always at the top!
Violet is another word for purple!
What makes the rainbow?
The sun is shining on the raindrops, the sun reflects off the rain.
The sky shines it only after it rains.
God is magical! He loves us when we see a rainbow!
The girls LOVED learning the order of the colors in the rainbow...ask them if they remember. They painted rainbows at the easel and made rainbows with beads. They look beautiful hanging in our windows and on our wall!
The girls created rainbow flowers with shapes. They drew their creation and then got to practice writing color words!
These little gardeners used rainbow color paper to create beautiful rainbow flowers. They even cut their own shapes! Their creative brains were really working hard!
The girls enjoyed creating a book...Eating a Rainbow. They had fun choosing foods we eat that matched the colors in the rainbow. Have you ever EATEN a rainbow?!? Ask your daughter her favorite color to eat! Green was not high on their lists. #eatyourveggies
