One of the wonderful opportunities our girls have in the early childhood division is to spend time with our co-curricular teachers. The girls absolutely LOVE going to the gym to play games with Mrs. Parson's cool equipment. Their creativity and imagination is stirred in music with Ms. Murray, as they sing and learn about the violin.
Ms. Tian, Senora Akers, and Mrs. Thomas come to our room for Chinese, Spanish, and library. They girls get so excited to spy those teachers through the window as they make their way to our door. Each of these activities enrich your daughter's pre-k experience as they extend the learning in each of their disciplines.
In this Chinese class, the girls are participating in a dragon dance. Ms. Tian has been telling the girls about Chinese New Year and the different customs that surround that holiday in China. They are counting in Chinese and learning colors. I am truly amazed at what their little minds can remember!
In music, Ms. Murray integrates fun drama activities for our girls. They are active and engaged as they sing and find their "creative voice." They are learning to respond to sound as they participate in group singing activities. They are exploring listening, singing, and performance with increased interest and enjoyment: The girls are also being introduced to the violin!
Senora Akers is teaching the girls to count in Spanish. They talk about the weather and have conversations about colors and how they are feeling. The girls love the songs she teaches them, too. We even hear them humming those songs throughout the day.
