Planting beets! Picking beets! Counting beets! Tasting beets!
Boy! Have we had fun at the farm this year! Our root veggie project culminated today as we harvested our last group of vegetables that we planted way back in February! The girls have LOVED seeing the whole growing process - from seed to produce! WOW!
What an absolutely fabulous experience! Enjoy the pics and videos of your little farmers!
Rocks in a river. Ice in a drink.
Some things float! Some things sink!
Test some objects in your bath.
Watch them! Now you're doing math!
We had a great time this morning testing our hypotheses about objects sinking and floating. The girls predicted what they thought would happen when they dropped their objects into the tub of water. We learned that living objects have air and that solid objects usually sink. It was so fun to see their little faces when they placed things in the water. We were surprised about a lot of things! Ask your daughter what she observed. Ask her what happened to the object she got to test.
Your little scientists are really learning and growing!
After our great success at growing and harvesting carrots, Mrs. Riddle, the horticulturist, suggested we try our hand at more root veggies! After showing us LOTS of root veggie pictures, the girls picked their favorites...Easter egg radishes, peppermint beets, and breakfast radishes. The pictures were beautiful! Would our radishes and beets grow? Would they get eaten by the geese? We were excited to DIG IN and give it a go!
STEP 1 - PLANTING!
STEP 2 - WATCHING THEM GROW!
STEP 3 - HARVESTING!
What an absolutely AMAZING thing to watch! The girls are GREAT little farmers!
And a BIG SHOUT OUT to Mrs. Riddle for ALL her great help!
The Trike-a-Thon for St. Jude is an exciting event for our pre-kindergarten girls! It is always a privilege for me to get to tell the girls about this special hospital in Memphis that helps children like them have free medicine and free doctors and nurses to take care of them! They love to hear about the precious little patients getting pajamas and toys and the best part, GETTING BETTER! We get to talk about how it makes our hearts feel really good to do something for them - something with our HEALTHY bodies!
We are so blessed! Our girls are learning to appreciate all they have and to GIVE!
I am happy to announce that the girls in the Little Hive, Pre-K and JK raised
