We have had so much fun and learned so many facts about the winter season and the characteristics that go with it. We would love for it to snow, but maybe in February or March. We have created winter scenes, made all kinds of snowgirls, and studied the temperature. Your girls know the number 32 to look for on the class thermometer to see if it is going to freeze water or snow. Here are some examples of our centers and all the learning that had been going on.
The girls are using thei recalling skills to create their own snowman. Other skills used are cutting and coloring.
Collecting nature to make our winter scenes.
They are using their creativity and inventiveness along with decision making.
Here we are recognizing numbers and making connections to the numbers.
Here we are examining and evaluating what happens to the ice and how long it takes to melt.
Play dough helps strengthen our fine motor skills.
The girls are using their logical thinking skills to make their picture.
Our winter scene project completed.
Our interests have moved to friends and how to be kind to others and courteous. We are talking about how we are all alike and how we are different and that being different is what makes each of us special. More to come next time.
