We have had so much fun and learned so many facts about the winter season and the characteristics that go with it. We would love for it to snow, but maybe in February or March. We have created winter scenes, made all kinds of snowgirls, and studied the temperature. Your girls know the number 32 to look for on the class thermometer to see if it is going to freeze water or snow. Here are some examples of our centers and all the learning that had been going on.
The girls are using thei recalling skills to create their own snowman. Other skills used are cutting and coloring.

Our interests have moved to friends and how to be kind to others and courteous. We are talking about how we are all alike and how we are different and that being different is what makes each of us special. More to come next time.
It was so great to see your girls again after the holidays. The girls enjoyed sharing their experiences and family fun with us. Most of the girls, of course, have seen Frozen 2 and Elsa and Anna have been alive in our class during free choice time.
We began to talk about the winter season and the characteristics of the season. We discussed how our clothes change when it is cold and created some hats, mittens and scarves. Of course, it was warm this week, but we are looking forward to the weatherman's prediction that it will be cold next week. Our centers focused on our benchmarks and the weather. We began our phonics program which is an important step in beginning to read and we are working on rhyming words and ending sounds that sound the same. We even created ourselves dressed for the cold and shared what our New Year's resolution are.
We are working on matching.
The girls built the White House which is 1 of our famous places.
We are working on writing our letters with straight and curved lines using our dry erase boards.
Our tactile table is making hot chocolate and they love it.
We are making Elsa's castle.
We are using one to one correspondence with numbers to 10. I
