Mrs. Burt & Mrs. Clanton
We had so much fun finally getting to plant our zinnias in our own flower bed on the playground. We will now be able to see them bloom and to make a rainbow. Now that they are on our playground we will be able to observe and take care of them ourselves. Mrs. Riddle, our farmer brought over a second grade class to help the girls plant. It was especially exciting because some of our sisters were in the group. We have planted with one tiny seed, observed weekly under the grow light and watered regularly. They grew to about 5 inches and then we planted them in the ground. We use the words roots, stem, leaves and blooms often. Here are pictures of this project.
We are now learning about bugs and their characteristics, along with identifying bugs. More to come - new words are head, thorax and abdomen just in case you hear them singing.
