Our class enjoyed the Lois Ehlert book "Planting A Rainbow" so much we spoke with our farmer for help to give us an idea for a project. She suggested we wait until this time of the year to plant so the plants would mature enough by May to plant at our farm. The girls of course love rainbows and flowers so they are especially excited about what they can contribute to the farm. Mrs. Riddle, our farmer, invited us to her inside office to plant zinnia seeds. We planted the colors of the rainbow in soil land containers. She has a grow light that we put them under until they mature. The girls plan to check on them each day as we go to lunch and water them. After they mature we plan on planting the plant in the garden at the farm.
