Several weeks ago we went to the farm and planted seeds with our horticulturist, Mrs. Riddle. We planted lettuce and radishes. This past week we went back to the farm to see what had happened to our seeds. It was so much fun to see our whole bed full of lettuce. The girls picked a lettuce leaf and we went over to the wash station and cleaned it off and ate it - right there in the garden. What fun! The girls were thrilled to pick their produce and eat it.
Our visit to the farm interested the girls in how you grow the food and eat it right there. This lead to our conversation about the Native Americans and the Pilgrims and how they had to have had gardens for them to have food. After much discussion and research we know what plants are easy to grow, which ones grow under the ground and which ones grow on top of the ground.

A great experience harvesting our produce!
The girls loved hosting their Dads and Grandads yesterday. Many books were read and the girls created their own cards to thank the guests for coming. Here are some of the pictures.
