Our class brainstormed on agreements that we should have in our room while we are here in school.
They asked these questions.
What is an agreement and what does it mean?
All together we wrote down agreements that we all should agree to in our class.
During our discussion one little girl used the word RESONSIBILITY. This led us to what is responsibility? We googled it on the smart board and came up with the definition, which is "having a duty to deal with something or someone.
Here are some of the agreements that the girls decided that we should practice this year,
Returning folders in the morning to the basket -
Remembering to return your library book -
Cleaning up your toys after play -
Keeping up with your own book bag and your clothes for special classes -
Doing your daily job well -
Finding a spot at lunch and eating before chatting -
Listening with your teachers -
All of these agreements are intended to foster independence and give us pride in what we do in our classroom and our school community.
Here are some examples of the girls showing responsibility.
It was great to see your girls and their families at the picnic last night. The girls are still talking about it and what fun they had.
