This week the girls have loved drawing and painting themselves in several different media. We have continued our conversation about how we are alike, and our differences and how it relates to how we portray and imagine ourselves when we create ourselves through our art. When using mirrors to study their individual faces, the girls are experiencing an awareness of each part of their faces and bodies and adding more and more detail as we continue to work with these activities. The mediums used this week to create these self portraits were paints, oil pastels, and pen and ink drawings. The class has loved looking at themselves very closely and making many observations about how unique each of them are.
Please enjoy some of the work from each kind of portrait and notice the detail of the drawings these three and four year old little girls have created!
