The girls had such a great time at the Hutchison farm! They were thrilled to put their boots on and go to such a lovely environment. If you ever get a chance to come see the farm, you will be absolutely amazed at the beauty and producing possibilities this wonderful area of the Hutchison property has each and every day. The class loved smelling the lemon basil and tasting the mint and fresh spinach. They got to also pick some fresh carrots and saw the biggest sweet potato ever! While looking at the turnip greens, Mrs. Riddle pointed out the ladybugs crawling on the turnips that the fifth grade students "released" in order to eat the tiny aphids, which are bugs that will destroy the turnips. The girls learned so much and we ended our visit picking one of the beautiful zinnias to bring home. We have more plans for future visits to the farm so we will keep those boots tucked away in our cubbies to have for the next time! Please enjoy the slide show of our fun adventure!!
