The girls have had a busy week and have enjoyed the many Easter activities! Who ever thought that we could reinforce so many skills using colorful Easter eggs and playdough? The girls have matched letters using eggs, strengthened their fine motor with playdough and "decorating"Easter trees, sorted colorful beads on a grassy box, and sorted pastel pompoms into eggs to also practice sorting, using tweezers to reinforce fine motor. Our Easter story books helped to recognize the letter "E" as we circled for reinforcement. We had an Easter Egg number hunt in the activity center and then we arranged them on the carpet from 1-20.
Our Easter snack was delicious and prepared us for a weekend filled with Easter goodies!
One of our favorite authors, Eric Carle, has helped us learn his creative process for art work in his colorful and wonderful stories. By painting tissue with multiple layers we will then create some art of our own for our ocean murals that are still a work in progress. "A House for Hermit Crab" and "Mr. Seahorse" have been two of our favorite books to share with the girls this week. The class also enjoyed water coloring their pen and ink drawings of the beautiful fish tank outside the library.
Lastly, the girls did a wonderful job at the spring program! They worked so hard with Mrs. Smith, kudos to everyone of them!! Enjoy our long weekend!
